Life Sized Sea Turtle Crochet Pattern!

I had the privilege of working with Hobbii Yarn on a project for an Under the Sea Amigurumi pattern and the result is this amazing life sized crochet sea turtle named Splash!

I chose to use their Honey Bunny Yarn, which is a super bulky, and super soft, polyester yarn. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it! The finished result is an amazingly cuddly creation that you will want to squish and pet!

With the Honey Bunny Yarn in colors Chocolate (12), Caramel (14), and Beige (05) I set out to create the motifs for the shell. As they came together my excitement grew. The colors and texture of the yarn were the perfect combination to create the look I desired for this project. You can see the top of the shell clearly in the photo below.

Once the top shell was complete, I used the beige color to make the bottom shell, because no turtle is complete without its entire shell.

The shell on this project is definitely a work of art.

The Head and flippers of the turtle are worked up individually using Honey Bunny color (111) Jungle, a deep dark green.

This entire project was so much fun to make, and I have been eager to share it with you!

If you are ready to make your own Splash, there are a few places you can find the pattern.

On the Hobbii website, in my Etsy and Ravelry shops.

How big is a life sized sea turtle? Well, it would depend on the type of sea turtle.

Splash measures just under 3 feet in length, and almost as wide making him approximately the same size as a green sea turtle. You can find more information on them with the link below.
