If you have children, chances are you sang this song to them at one time or another. Because of this I thought it was only fitting to name this Sun Rattle after the song.
This little rattle not only brightens a room, I hope it will bring a smile to your face.
For my Rattle I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton in Curry and a 3.75mm “F” crochet hook.
If you want your sun to be a rattle, you will also need an insert which can be found on Amazon, but don’t worry, they make cute plushies without the rattle too!

Terminology
Ch: Chain
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
SLST: Slip Stitch
YO: Yarn Over
F/O: Finish Off
Bobble Stitch: YO, insert hook into the stitch, YO, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), YO pull through 2 loops, YO, insert hook into the same stitch, YO, pull up a loop (4 loops on hook), YO, pull though 2 loops, YO, insert hook into the same stitch, YO, pull up a loop, (5 loops on hook), YO, pull through all 5 loops on hook.
This rattle is worked in 2 panels, and then attached together and edged.
Finished size 6" diameter
Panels: Make 2
Round 1: Work 6 SC into a magic circle, pull tight, SLST to join, ch1 (6)
Round 2: 2SC into each stitch around, SLST, ch1, (12)
Round 3: *2SC, SC* repeat around, SLST, ch1 (18)
Round 4: *SC 2, 2SC* repeat around, SLST, ch1, (24)
Round 5: *2SC, SC 3* repeat around, SLST, ch1 (30)
Round 6: *SC 4, 2SC* repeat around, SLST, ch1, TURN (36)
Round 7: *SC, Bobble* repeat around, SLST, ch1, TURN (36)
Round 8: *SC 5, 2SC* repeat around, SLST, ch1 (42)
Round 9: *2SC, SC 6* repeat around, SLST, ch1, TURN (48)
Round 10: *SC, Bobble* repeat around, SLST, ch1, TURN (48)
Round 11: *SC 7, 2SC* repeat around, SLST, ch1 (54)
Round 12: *2SC, SC 8* repeat around, SLST, F/O. (60) **Panel 2 do not finish off**
Joining the panels
With the wrong sides facing in ch1, and insert hook through the first stitch on both panels.
SC all around attaching panels together until you have 10 stitches left. Stuff with Poly-fil and add a baby rattle insert. SC into last 10 stitches, SLST, ch1 (60)
Edging:
*SC, HDC, (DC, ch3, SLST into the 3rd chain from hook, DC) all in the same stitch, HDC, SC, SLST* repeat pattern around, SLST into first SC. F/O
