Say Hello to my Little Frosty Friend Snowman!

It is hard to believe that Christmas is just over six weeks away. While 2020 has seemed to be the longest year, it has also seemed to disappear. Maybe because we missed so much?

We are currently in the busiest season for makers, and many of us are looking for items to sell or gift to friends and family. Let me introduce you to my Frost Friend Snowman. This little guy measures 10" tall and is so cute you will want to make all the colors!

These little Frosty Friends will be great for home décor or as a cuddly little gift for children.

Dry beans are used in the base of the snowman to give stability, you will want to leave these out if giving the finished item to a small child.

Scarf

With Main Color, Chain 52, DC into the 3rd chain from hook and across, F/O. (50)

With accent color: Cut 6 pieces of yarn approx. 3” in length for fringe.

Assembly:

Keeping the join seam to the back of the snowman, insert the safety eyes 6 rows down, and 6 stitches apart on the front of the snowman.

Using the thin orange yarn and a large needle, insert into the stitch between the eyes as shown in the photo, and then into the stitch one row down and one row to the left. Loop yarn through these two stitches 5 times, F/O.

Pour 1 handful of dry beans into the bottom of the snowman body. (approx. 1/3 C)

Stuff the body with poly-fil shaping as you go.

With the tail of the hat, secure the back of the hat to the back of the snowman’s head 4 rows from the top. Once secured, add poly-fil to the hat and place onto the snowman’s head. Hold in place with sewing pins if desired.

When attaching the hat to the snowman’s head, work the needle through the stitches side to side, instead of top to bottom, to keep the last row of the hat looking clean.

Wrap scarf around the neck and secure with a strand of accent colored yarn and a large needle.

Make a pom with the accent color and a pom maker and attach to the top of the hat.
