It's October, which means Sweater Weather!

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

October is the month that temperatures begin to cool here in Kansas and people start wearing sweaters of all kinds. From pullovers, to cardigans, to hoodies, it seems everyone has a sweater to grab as they walk out the door. As a fiber artist, sweater weather is my favorite time of the year. It's not too cold, and not too hot, and I get to make all the sweaters!

The October issue of Crochet Foundry Magazine is now available for purchase and inside you will find not one, but three amazing sweater designs and 5 other must have accessories to make and wear this Fall!

You can find the magazine here: Crochet Foundry October 2023

If you are looking for a new cardigan pattern, I got you covered! The Wide Stripe Cardigan is my newest design and is featured in the October issue. This pattern uses Furls Wander Acrylic yarn in three beautiful colors, has amazing texture, and large front pockets! If you haven't used Wander Yarn, it is incredibly soft, and has a beautiful sheen. There are 40 stunning colors to chose from, so I am sure you will find one you love! I used Thatch, Agave, and Sandbar for my cardigan, but there are so many color combinations that would look amazing! Check out all of the colors available: Wander

The wide stripe cardigan is hip length, but is easily customizable for a longer or shorter length. I designed the cardigan to have a little extra room in the shoulder and upper arm so it fits well over your short or long sleeve tops, and I kept the edging simple so it didn't distract from the gorgeous texture.

The entire design came together with my Furls Streamline Galaxy hook. Isn't she lovely? The green and gold swirls on this one made it absolute perfection! Check out all of the gorgeous hooks currently available here: Furls Hooks

I hope you check out the October Issue of Crochet Foundry. You get 8 amazing designs for only $8, that's just $1 per pattern!

Happy October, and Happy Crocheting!

Carol
